With the data I’ve garnered from my Google Maps Activities. I’ve remapped a route I’ve marched during the 2019 Hong Kong protests. I reverse engineered a visual essay of my experience at the epicenter of the protests accompanied with a publication using Google Maps, Google Earth Studio, Instagram and Twitter. I was well aware I was visiting as a tourist. However, with current day technology that same tourist can be a researcher, academic or even a spy. The lines blur in news reporting. How to destinguish fake news from reality?
