I Arranged a Range of Oranges

A conceptual research into the citrus fruit as gustatory and olfactory still life. Our smell and taste qualia are often an afterthought in the aesthetic world. However, in the process of preserving tastes and smells for later consumption, I’ve found many visually engaging and pleasing elements. In the installation and performance piece, I displayed my different preservation techniques, ranging from dehydration, oil, fructose, vacuum sealing to vinegar. During the performance, I asked everyone to get close in a circle and smell and taste my recipes.
