A rearrangement of the publication “10 Vervlogen Jaren Koninklijke Nederlandsch-Indische Luchtvaartmaatschappij”.
During my archival research in the Leiden Digital Collections, I stumbled upon a brochure “Touring the Tropics at Topspeed”, which aroused my interest in the connection of tourism and war, but also how technology plays a role in this. Furthermore, I connected this to an emergance of Dutch-Indonesian graphic language and aerial photography, but also explored how these techniques portrayed the new tourist destination. I removed most original typography and replaced it with associated imagery and fragments of texts that I found relevant.
